OPERATION PRODUCTION UPGRADE

Production ministries (audio, media, broadcast) are a vital part of the experience we provide to our guests, church family, and (with broadcast) to the community outside our building. We've already made several upgrades within the building space that we are renting, but the production setup is no longer appropriate and is unable to support our growing production needs. This will be explained in more detail below.

At the outset of 2025 we have launched a fundraising campaign to cover the cost of a new/relocated production booth along with required equipment and accessories to make it possible. We are asking our friends and church family to prayerfully consider supporting this project. Let's get into a little more detail:

OUR CURRENT CHALLENGE

We are blessed to rent space from the First Baptist Church in Freeland and we've been slowly improving their pre-existing setup. The reality is this - the current production booth needs to be relocated and enlarged. The current production location and setup is no longer sustainable due to our growing worship and production ministry. The booth is currently located at the front of the church next to the platform. It is on the wrong side of the speakers and is far too small for the number of volunteers required. Nobody in today's world would design it that way for our needs. We are currently attempting to mix three vocalists, two acoustic guitars, an electric guitar, a bass guitar, and drums from a location BEHIND the speakers! PLUS the space is too small to allow additional volunteers to comfortably run the slides and stream. That means we are currently running both SOUND and SLIDES from a place where it is impossible to truly hear or fully see what's happening out there. Our volunteers are doing a great job with what they have, but it's frustrating to not be able to properly see or hear what's happening in the sanctuary. Unfortunately, it also hinders the ability for our volunteers to provide the production quality needed. When you can't hear accurately, you cannot fix problems on the fly - and this creates distractions. In order to properly operate a distraction-free production ministry, we need to relocate the production booth to the back of the sanctuary and make it large enough to comfortably host at least 2-3 volunteers.

The cost of the project is estimated to be around $4500. This includes full design and install plus all new equipment/cables required. Our goal is to have all funds raised by the end of February (if not sooner!)

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

QUESTION: Why build a production booth in a building you do not own?

ANSWER: It's common for churches and businesses to make structural adjustments to their rented space. To protect this financial investment, we have an agreement that enables us to remain at the First Baptist property for a minimum of the next two years and beyond (as needed). Additionally, and possibly more importantly, this project is not just to serve our own church, but to serve the Kingdom of God - including our Baptist Friends, who will benefit from this project as well. Win-win!

QUESTION: Why is Vineyard Freeland taking on the cost of this instead of First Baptist when they own the building?

ANSWER: Because the growth of OUR ministry requires it. Our Baptist friends have a more traditional worship ministry with far fewer production requirements. This is something WE need to continue our growth. Secondly, the First Baptist Church is already in the process of a fundraising campaign to replace the church roof (about a $50,000 project that is well overdue). We feel strongly that it would be unfair to lay additional burden on our Baptist friends. Our leadership team believes that Operation Production Upgrade is a blessing that God will be funding through our ministry (and our generous friends).

QUESTION: What is included in the $4500 cost?

ANSWER: First, one of our commitments is to ensure that anything we do is appropriate for both Vineyard Freeland AND our First Baptist friends. That means it has to look like it's always been there - matching the decor of the current building.  Second, with more desk space, we will finally have room for a full-sized digital mixer, which is included in the cost along with needed peripherals). Additional upgrades in the future will include a new camera for recording/streaming.

QUESTION: What if I am unable to contribute at this time?

Answer: We'll take all the prayer we can get! We could use prayers for the process of designing and building - that everything will go according to plan! Your prayers help us continue our mission of multiplying the joy of the Jesus-shaped life in our homes, neighborhoods, city, and beyond!
